So I was finally able to get a little sleep last night, it's been a rough week!

Sunday night I took my very first ambulance ride, as a patient! My stomach hurt so bad I could barely breathe! They did some bloodwork in the ER and my Liver function was a little abnormal. Followed up with a quack of a doctor and got an ultrasound and had to do an upper GI series. (I don't reccommend the barium - it's so so nasty!) They think it's either my gall bladder or possibly hepatitis. We should find out some test results soon - I'll keep you all posted.

On the Sammy front - he's getting to be a little pudge-ball! He's probably close to 15 lbs. now- he'll be 9 weeks old on sunday. Last friday he decided he would surprise us all by flipping over from his tummy to his back! We've tried to get a video of it - but go figure, he won't do it when we're filming. I think he wants us to enjoy it ourselves first :)

He's holding his head up very well and likes to sit up a lot. He's already outgrown a whole bag of baby clothes! He smiles so much now, seems like he was just saving them up - he does have his own pace, he does things when he's ready and not before. His temperment seems to be coming through, he has a mostly sunny disposition but he is very adament about what he doesn't like. I really can't wait for everyone to meet him. I put up a new video of him on youtube today, so check him out!

I am thankful that he's finally teaching me to take one day at a time, something people (esp. my father) have been telling me to do my whole life. But you just can't do it any other way, every day you start over with him, some days are good and others are trying but all of them are precious.

So here's one of the latest of my two favorite boys, Enjoy!

Hope everyone is doing well - it was great to finally catch up with you all! Much love and great big hugs! Stay Shiny!
XOXOXOX

Christmastime

Here's Sammy just after his bath....I wasn't trying to be discreet, but apparantly this is the face he makes when he's peeing - what are you gonna do?

So, Christmas is here. I hope everyone had a lovely holiday with friends and family. We spent ours at home, just the 3 of us. Went to midnight mass and Sammy didn't go to sleep until 3am, so we slept in pretty late. Thanks to everyone who sent us gifts and cards - the sentiment was truly appreciated - Not everyone may get their cards from us on time, but we hope you like them anyway!

Taking a nap with daddy before heading to mass....

Stretching with Mommy....

Wearing his Christmas outfit from Gramma Hugabunnies....

I am amazed every day by this little being who decided to join our family.

I miss you all very much and am too choked up to write down exactly how I feel this year, So suffice it to say, I love you and miss you terribly and wish I could share Sammy with you so that you could enjoy him too.

Merry Christmas and a Shiny New Year to everyone!!!

The Madfrog Strikes again....

I just don't know how he does it time after time....it must be exhausting to be this amusing all the time! I love this one, by the way - Ry had said it looked like he was doing the lean.

Well, Sammy's now 5 weeks old and is just a darling little thing (he'll probably hate that when he's bigger) He's very well behaved, doesn't cry or fuss too much and sleeps for at least 3 hours at a time. He weighs over 10 lbs already! Can't wait for us to have our first Christmas!

Ryan's finished with finals for the trimester and managed to keep his 3.0 GPA with all this craziness going on - I'm very proud of him! So now we get to spend time as a family for the first time, looking forward to it! He'll start back on the 9th of Jan.

Not too much else going on here at the moment - feeding, changing, sleeping and burping and trying to work normal everyday stuff around that. It's a little tough, but he's worth it!
He's also holding his head up really well, trying to flip himself over, and even (if you're lucky) smiling at you occasionally. Here are some more pics of him this past week.....

BEDREST

For everyone who reads this and didn't get my email update (shouldn't be too many) I have been officially placed on bedrest. I HATE IT!!!!!!! The only reason I can post right now is because Ryan was asleep when I told him I was going upstairs :) But it is really for the best, I guess. No worries about little Sammy - his heart rate was ok and he's about 7lbs 8oz as of thursday, so he shouldn't have much trouble if he comes early. We'll have a better game plan on what's going to happen when I go back to the doc's on Monday. I think we're definately looking at him coming soon though. We'll be considered full term on Wed. and depending on how I do over the wknd - we'll talk about either scheduling a c-section or setting an induction date for after wednesday. Let's just hope I make it through the wknd without incident. Keep your fingers crossed! I guess I'd better get my butt back in bed before I get yelled at....Take Care, everyone!

XOXOXO

Halloween!

Happy Halloween, Everyone!
Here's our '06 pumpkin carvings - as promised. Unintentionally funny - but amusing nonetheless.
Well, it's only 1 month left til Sammy time. I go to the doc's every week now. We've got another appt and another ultrasound scheduled for this thursday - and I know you are all DYING to find out what happens, so I'll keep you posted. Hopefully I won't have to spend any more time in the hospital before it's time to deliver!
Ryan's church (where he plays the drums) had a little diaper shower for us yesterday - that was very nice of them, and they offered to bring over meals for us after the baby's born so we don't have to cook for a while. Very nice bunch of people. I got to hold one of the babies that was born about a month ago, she was early, but she's gotten big! Funny, as soon as I got her onto my shoulder, she got the hiccups - and shortly after so did Sammy! That was fun to contend with.

What else? Ma and Kurt have got their plane tix already to come and see us, so YAY! They'll be here on the 25th. Can't wait to see them and take them around town!
And...oh, my Dad is getting married again on the 31st of Dec. to his girlfriend, Cindy, who he's been dating for a few years now. They'll be going down to the JP, so nothing fancy. Congrats to them. Ry's Dad is also getting married on the 1st of Dec, and as it stands now - they're planning on a small ceremony with just their kids in attendance. Congrats to them as well.
So, it looks to be a busy end to the year. Halloween, My Birthday, Thanksgiving, Ma & Kurt visiting, THE BIRTH!, 2 marriages, and Christmas....how will we ever keep up?! I'm sure you all have quite a bit going on, everyone always does! I look forward to hearing from you all soon!
Hope your week is Super Shiny! XOXOX
